ok so I'm a cancer sun and I'm honestly kind of tired of the reputation lol
like yes I feel things deeply but so does everyone?? I have friends who are literally crying at commercials (a virgo and a capricorn) so why do we get ALL the "emotional" energy
I'm not saying it's completely wrong because yeah I do care a lot and get attached to people easily. but I feel like the stereotype makes it seem like we're just crying all the time which... is not me?
anyone else relate to this or am I the only cancer who's like... fine actually
omg yes!! I'm a cancer moon and people always expect me to be this weeping mess but I'm literally one of the most chill people I know
I think the emotional thing is more about emotional DEPTH than being a crybaby. like we feel stuff strongly but we're not always showing it
This is such a fair question and honestly the stereotype is both true and oversimplified at the same time.
Cancer is ruled by the moon, which governs emotional cycles, intuition, and memory. So yes, there's genuinely a heightened sensitivity there — but sensitivity isn't the same as instability.
What actually distinguishes Cancer placements is emotional RETENTION. You don't just feel things in the moment and let them go — you hold onto them, process them, revisit them. That can look like being "emotional" to someone who processes more externally.
Also worth noting: your full chart matters a lot. A Cancer sun with a lot of earth or air placements can be surprisingly stoic on the surface while still having that deep inner world.
the emotional retention thing MarcusAstro said is SO real. I don't cry in public ever but I will think about a conversation I had three years ago at 2am. is that the same thing lol
my best friend is a cancer and she is literally the most put-together person I know?? runs her own business, never dramatic
but she also remembers every detail of every conversation we've ever had and shows up for people in a way I've never seen from other signs. I think that's the real cancer trait, not the crying
