ok so I've always heard that cancers are like... the crybabies of the zodiac lol. super sensitive, moody, cries at commercials etc
but my two closest friends are cancers and honestly?? they're some of the most emotionally STABLE people I know. like they feel things deeply yeah but they don't fall apart??
one of them is literally the person everyone goes to when THEY'RE upset lol
idk maybe I've just been lucky with the cancers in my life but it made me wonder if the stereotype is totally off base or if I'm just not seeing it
honestly same!! my cancer best friend is so grounded. I think the stereotype comes from the fact that they actually acknowledge their feelings instead of suppressing them?? which is actually healthier lol
This is such a good observation and you're touching on something astrologers debate a lot.
The "emotional Cancer" stereotype comes from the moon rulership - Cancer is ruled by the moon, which does govern emotions, moods, and instincts. But there's a big difference between being emotionally aware and being emotionally unstable.
What you're describing - Cancers who feel deeply but hold space for others - is actually the evolved expression of Cancer energy. They've learned to channel that sensitivity outward as empathy and care rather than inward as reactivity.
Also worth noting: the full chart matters a ton. A Cancer sun with a Capricorn moon or a Virgo rising is going to read very differently than a Cancer sun, Cancer moon, Cancer rising. Sun sign stereotypes miss so much nuance.
wait the part about evolved vs unevolved expression is so interesting... never thought about signs having like levels to them
I'm a cancer and I feel SO seen by this thread lol. tired of being reduced to "the emotional one" like yes I have feelings, that's called being human??
