did a quick pull before meeting someone new for coffee (bad idea probably lol) and got the ace of cups reversed
i know upright its like new emotional beginnings, opening your heart etc. but reversed?? now im sitting here like is this telling me to guard myself or is it just picking up on MY nerves not the actual situation
context if it matters: i've been kind of closed off since my last relationship ended so idk if the card is about him or about me tbh
anyone pulled this before a date/new connection and had it actually mean something useful afterward
Oh this is such a good question to sit with before a first date! The cards whisper nuance here that's easy to miss in the moment.
The Ace of Cups reversed rarely predicts the other person - it almost always points inward. It can mean an emotional block, self-doubt, or feelings that haven't fully opened yet. Given what you shared about feeling closed off since your last relationship, I'd read this as the deck reflecting YOUR guardedness back to you, not a warning about him.
Trust your inner knowing: go in curious rather than bracing for disappointment. The card is inviting you to notice where you're holding back, not telling you to cancel.
honestly this happens to me constantly, pull a rough card before something nerve wracking and immediately spiral lol. the reversed cups thing sounds way more like pre-date jitters than an omen
wait did the date end up going ok?? kind of invested now lol
update: it actually went really well! we talked for like 3 hours lol. in hindsight the reversed ace was 100% about me being guarded, not him. good reminder to check my own baggage before blaming the cards
